Pall’s AcroPrepTM 24-well filter plates feature a range of Pall’s proprietary membranes to meet the requirements of researcher’s applications and workflows. The filter plates feature a ridged and robust polypropylene construction that offers extensive drug and chemical compatibility. The low protein binding and low extractable properties of both filter plate and membrane materials ensure maximum recovery of valuable samples.
Utilizing Pall’s proprietary high-performance multi-layer filter media and membranes, these plates offer time savings, strong performance claims and streamlined workflow improvements in a 24-well plate format.
Intrinsic plate and membrane properties minimize sample loss from non-specific binding
Automation friendly – compatible with all major automation platforms
Designed in accordance with the ANSI/SLAS X-2004 standards
Vacuum compatible – compatible with all popular vacuum and positive pressure manifolds
Centrifugation - suitable for centrifugation with compatible rotors
AcroPrep Cell Clarification and Sterile Filtration Plate Accelerating Protein Purification Workflows
Pall’s clarification and sterile filtration AcroPrep 24-well filter plate can both clarify and sterile filter in a single device and in a single workflow step. Each of the 24 wells contains Pall Seitz® depth media layered over a 0.65/0.2 μm Supor® EKV membrane. With either a vacuum manifold or centrifuge, high density cell cultures (such as CHO or HEK) can be quickly processed resulting in the capture of cells, cell debris and other biological aggregates in the filter media. The filtrate collected by the 24-well collection plate only contains proteins and other sub 0.2 μm particles.
By using this multi-layer filtration media and membrane design integrated into one device, it is possible to effortlessly recover proteins from whole cell cultures with varying variabilities of up to 25 M cells/mL.
A traditional multistep method for 24-well culture harvesting would involve the use of tubes, tips, filters and syringes with each transfer step, which can increase the chance of contamination and potential product loss, as well as being labor intensive. Combining the clarification and sterilization steps eliminates the need to harvest the cells in a centrifugation step, saving time and simplifying workflows.
Offers workflow that is compatible with 24-well cell culture formats
Depth filter plus 0.65/0.2 µm Supor EKV membrane
Demonstrates retention of 107 cfu/cm2 of B. diminuta per modified ASTM F838
Depth media allows clarification of large cellular debris prior to filtration through the 0.65/0.2 µm Supor EKV membrane
Reliable recovery of > 90% of extra cellular proteins
Uses up to seven times (7x) less plastic consumables by weight, significantly reducing disposal costs compared with traditional methods
Sterile Filtration Workflows with the AcroPrep 0.2 μm Supor EKV Filtration Plate
Pall’s sterile filtration AcroPrep 24-well filter plate is well suited for the high volume (up to 7 mL) plate-based sterile filtration of media, reagents, serum or protein. The filter plate features a dual-layer, 0.65 μm membrane integrated with a highly asymmetric 0.2 μm membrane, this offers a fast, efficient, and sterilizing grade filtration.
Unlike alternative sterilizing grade filter plates available on the market, the Pall AcroPrep 0.2 μm Supor EKV Filtration Plates are individually bagged and gamma irradiated.

AcroPrep 24-well Filter Plates with Supor Membrane
AcropPrep 24-well filter plates with Supor membrane can be used for a variety of applications. The Supor polyethersulfone (PES) membrane enables fast filtration, has low protein binding properties and offers extensive drug and chemical compatibility.
Available with 0.1, 0.45, 0.8, 1.2 and 5 μm pore size ratings, these versatile filter plates can be confidently incorporated into a number of laboratory 24- well format workflows.
Protein purification: High performance Supor membrane offers optimal support to retain chromatography sorbents while allowing smooth flow of buffers
Lysate clearance and general sample preparation: Supor membrane is ideal for particulate removal or lysate clearance prior to downstream analysis or subsequent purifications
Multiplexing assays: These high-performance membranes do not trap microspheres in the membrane matrix, ensuring superior bead recovery and reducing false positives
Aqueous filtration: The broad drug and chemical compatibility of the Supor membrane make it ideal for filtering aqueous solutions that require collections, separation, or removal of contaminants
If a larger pore size is required Pall supplies a AcroPrep 24-well filter plate with PP/PE media. This plate offers a pore size of 30-40 μm, making it ideal to use as a cell strainer when rapidly isolating primary cells.
AcroPrep 24-well Filter Plates with Omega™ Membrane
AcroPrep 24-well filter plates with Omega membrane can be used for ultrafiltration applications including desalting, diafiltration, concentration or fractionation of protein and nucleic acid samples.
The Omega ultrafiltration membrane is a polyethersulfone (PES) membrane specifically modified to minimize protein and nucleic acid binding. The Omega membrane works on the premise of size exclusion, where samples are fractionated by molecular weight. Larger molecules can be separated from smaller molecules by selecting the appropriate molecular weight cut-off (MWCO) and filtering the sample through these plates by either centrifugation, vacuum, or positive pressure. Typical results are ≥ 90% recovery of target molecules.
Pall offers 24-well filter plates with a variety of MWCOs, ranging from 1 kDa to 100 Kda, to use with a wide range of biomolecules. Receiver plates are supplied with the filter plates to ensure the easy collection of the filtrate.
