Description
BRANDOL-diffusers are very proven duroplast
diffusers mainly used for the aeration of waste
water for more than 50 years. These are
composed of pure quartz sand bonded with a
resin binder to form a stable, mechanically
strong porous element. Due to the exactly
defined quartz grain size distribution and a well
controlled production method the BRANDOL
cylinders and discs have a remarkably
homogeneous porous structure. This results in a
very uniform air distribution and bubble release.

Chemical Resistance
BRANDOL diffusers are resistant up to pH 9.5 against municipal waste water as well as against waste
water from industrial sewage water plants. BRANDOL diffusers have a good chemical resistance against
most solvents, hydro carbons and acids. Chemicals that can attack the BRANDOL diffuser material are for
instance aniline, calcium chlorate, furfural, potassium chlorate, potassium hydroxide, aqua regia, cresol,
natrium chlorate, natrium hydroxide, sulfuric acid concentrate, perchloric acid, nitric acid (> 10%) und
trichloroacetic acid (> 50%).

General Information
- Brandol diffuser can be regenerated in-situ in by acid injection in order to remove calcium carbonate depositions.
- BRANDOL diffusers have a remarkable lifetime and a low pressure drop. The resin bonded material is
designed for decades of perfect operation.
Applications
Fine bubble aeration for activated sludge processes for nitrification
and C-decomposition
- municipal waste water treatment plants
- industrial waste water treatment plants
Coarse bubble aeration of waste water in grit chambers and mixing:
- waste water mixing avoiding sedimentation
- homogenization of waste water feed
