Description

Pall’s glass fiber syringe filters are ideal for the high throughput prefiltration of particulate-laden samples. They can be used alone or in series with another syringe filter to increase flow rate and throughput.

Pall supplies both traditional ring moulded 25 mm glass fiber syringe filters and Premium Syringe Filter (PSF) 25 mm glass fiber syringe filters. The PSF syringe filter has a much larger effective filtration area compared with the older traditional model, 3.9 cm2 compared to 2.8 cm2. This gives the PSF syringe filter an improved throughput and flow rate. The housing for both types of syringe filters is constructed out of broad chemical compatible polypropylene material.

 

The PSF syringe filters are available with a multi-layered glass fiber prefilter (GxF) above a glass fiber final filter. PSF syringe filters with the GxF configuration prefilter provide two to four times the throughput of standard prefilter devices for particulate-laden samples. This makes the filter ideal for applications in which there could be a high particulate load in the sample, for example with difficult-to-filter dissolution samples.

 

The 25 mm PSF filters have been designed and certified to meet the exacting requirements of automation systems. They demonstrate critical criteria including smooth filter-to-filter release, consistent turret advancement, exceptional housing strength and a strict outside filter geometry to ensure proper alignment and consistent operation. Autopack tube packaging is available for compatible automated equipment.

In addition, Pall supply a 37 mm large size filter which is ideal for very dirty samples. The product features a 1 μm (nominal) glass fiber media and polypropylene housing.
