Overview

The PadMixer system is a ‘paddle’ based mixing technology equipped with a PLC for recipe controlled, high performance mixing. It is especially suited to challenging applications, such as those involving very heavy powder loads or high viscosities.

The PadMixer system uses an innovative biocontainer design, allowing a non-invasive connection between the single-use mixing biocontainer and the hardware. Mixing is initiated when the integrated paddle inside the biocontainer rotates within. Speed, direction and frequency of rotational change can all be controlled by the operator and/or programmable recipe. The PadMixer system performs well for challenging mixing activities.

The PadMixer system uses single-use mixing systems made from Allegro™ TK8 bioprocess film. The product-contacting layer of the Allegro TK8 film is blow-extruded in-house by Pall Life Sciences under cleanroom conditions, using medical-grade ultra low-density polyethylene resin. It is then laminated to create a gas barrier film of exceptional cleanliness, strength and clarity that is animal derived component free (ADCF) and complies fully with USP Class VI requirements.
