Liquid-Gas Coalescers

The liquid/gas coalescers can eliminate virtually all solids and liquids in a gas stream, significantly reduce maintenance costs, and maintain superior equipment performance.

Pall offers the following range of liquid gas coalescers:

  • SepraSol™ Coalescers

Designed to deliver high-efficiency performance in critical applications, SepraSol coalescers have the capability to process several times more liquid per unit area than conventional media. These liquid/gas coalescers offer reduced CAPEX and OPEX with a smaller installation footprint.

  • SepraSol™ Plus Coalescers

The SepraSol Plus media can process several times more liquid per unit area of media than conventional media and often eliminates the need for upstream bulk separation equipment. The Pall SepraSol Plus media can handle higher levels of liquid per unit area and requires significantly fewer cartridges to remove liquid and solids from gases.

  • Medallion™ Coalescers

Pall’s Medallion line of liquid/gas coalescers is ideal for applications that require less critical aerosol removal efficiency. These filters enhance process performance and reduce operation and maintenance costs.

  • ZM Series

ZM or “Zero Mist” coalescing filters are specially designed for critical applications that demand high aerosol removal efficiency, such as compressed gas systems. These coalescing cartridges operate economically with high separation efficiency and offer longer equipment life with reduced operating downtime.

  • Retrofit Coalescers

The PallFit family of retrofit filters and coalescers work as direct replacements for competitors’ elements. The products are reliable and offer improved efficiency.

Description

Liquid/gas coalescers can significantly decrease maintenance costs while maintaining the performance of processing equipment, such as compressors, turbines, burners, and expensive catalysts and desiccants over the traditional separators. The hydrophobic and oleophobic treatment in Pall's liquid/gas coalescer prevents sparging, allows rapid drainage, reduces vessel size, and increases flow capacity, making it recover very quickly from liquid slugs to withstand fluctuations in process conditions and save operating costs.

Why choose Pall’s Liquid/Gas Coalescer Separators?

The liquid/gas coalescer filter separators offer a range of benefits, including:

  • Accelerated liquid drainage
  • High liquid load handling capability
  • Quicker recovery from high-volume liquid slugs
  • Fewer element changeouts
  • Reduced saturated pressure drop
  • Minimized vessel diameter due to fewer restrictions on annular velocity
  • Consistent, high-efficiency liquid removal
  • High solids removal efficiency
  • Optimum protection of downstream equipment
  • Less liquid losses
  • Enhanced product consistency and quality
  • Reduced capital, operating, and maintenance costs with increased uptime
  • No need for upstream bulk removal equipment

FAQs

1. How are Pall’s Liquid/Gas Coalescers superior to the conventional separators?

Pall's liquid/gas coalescers can take care of high liquid loads with >1000 ppmv and reduce up to 90% of aerosols. The liquid/gas coalescing separators are chemically treated to recover very quickly from slugs of liquid and better withstand fluctuations in process conditions. The coalescers save operating and maintenance costs and maintain the performance of processing equipment over the traditional separators.

2. Can Pall’s Liquid/Gas Coalescers filter aerosols as small as 0.01 microns?

Yes. Pall's liquid/gas coalescing separators can remove aerosols at a level as small as 0.01 microns from gases.

3. What are the benefits of hydrophobic and oleophobic treatment in the Pall Liquid/Gas Coalescers?

The hydrophobic and oleophobic treatment in Pall's liquid gas separators prevents sparging, allows rapid drainage, reduces vessel size, and increases flow capacity, helping it recover very quickly from slugs of liquid and better withstand fluctuations in process conditions.
